Our Gardens January 13, 2001 This is not really an article but rather just a picture of part of our back yard taken this past summer(2000). It's beginning to look lush thanks to the efforts of my wife April. While I helped with the grunt work; all the planning, design, layout work and specific plant selection was done by April. We live on Vancouver Island on the West coast of Canada; many would consider the Island a gardeners paradise. April has developed nearly 1/2 an acre in gardens over the past 5 years and continues to add a little more each spring. Our gardens consist of mostly of perennials; although annuals are spotted around to add colour where necessary. We have finally reached the point where expansions to the gardens are done with cuttings or by dividing existing plants; thus the only plants purchased each year are the several dozen annuals. If there are any favorable comments on this posting I will post several more pictures of other parts of the gardens.
