LaserAge Gold v2.0a (Works on Win95,98,Me & Win2K)

Get ready for a great freebie arcade shooter game that's filled with superb sounds, explosive action and graphics that'll dazzle your eyes. Brought to you courtesy of Ingava, LaserAge will keep you pinned to your seat as you dodge waves of various enemies as well as the shower of fire that they rain down on you.

Four different levels are included. Your ship can have up to 14 levels of powerups. Each level gives you both more life and a more powerful weapons. Every time you are hit, you will lose 1 power level. When all power levels are depleted, your game is over.

Graphics are dazzling and will stun your eyes with the explosions, the variety of weapon's fire, and the rendered ships that occupy your screen. From the get-go, the background music is loud and follows the constant action going on your screen. With support for mouse and keyboard, controls are simple and the game allows you to move around the lower part of the screen (trust me, you'll be glad that you have some room to manuver around the enemy's fire).

Don't be fooled when you first start off, because the enemies firepower, speed and A.I. leaps after a few rounds, and can leave you in a dizzy spell with all the action happening on your screen. Well, with all the hail of gunfire these aliens shoot down on you, isn't it just too difficult? Some may find it difficult, especially those not used to shooters, but couple of rounds should quickly get your feet wet and allow you to proceed to higher levels.

The game is as basic and easy to play as its ancestors. Your spaceship, situated in the lower-half of the screen, is controlled by simple mouse movements. As aliens hover at the top, you fire back by left-clicking the mouse. LaserAge offers three different levels with 15 waves of aliens each. As you defeat alien waves, the game becomes progressively harder. The climax is at the end of each wave, when you encounter the boss for an intense fire fight.

Your spaceship can be enhanced with up to nine power-ups. While some provide new lives, others add new weaponry to your arsenal. As you reach the later stages, you'll need all the firepower you can get. The only flaw in the game is that your spaceship's lasers are the same color as the aliens' lasers. This may get confusing as you maneuver across trying to avoid getting blasted.

Overall, the fantastic graphics, sounds, extensive variety of enemies as well as weapon's powerups should be more than enough to satisfy those who are looking for non-stop arcade shooting action. If that still doesn't provide some incentive to take the time to look and download this title.....then here's one more good reason - IT"S FREE! Can't get any better than that!
